Sem graduated cum laude from the Radboud University in Nijmegen in May 2023 for his master's degree in Civil Law.

During his master he did an internship in Bonaire at the law firm VANEPS. He wrote his master thesis on the acquisition of government land by liberating prescription, based on a legal comparison between the Netherlands and Caribbean countries. During his studies Sem also worked at the Rechtswinkel Achterhoek, where he was successively legal assistant, general board member, chairman and quality commissioner.

Sem has been part of the Government & Real Estate team at LXA Advocaten since August 2023.
