Based on this registration, she is required to obtain ten training credits per calender year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
Debbie joined LXA in 2016 as a lawyer specialised in employment law. Previous to joining LXA Debbie has been a specialized employment lawyer for one of the largest law firms in the south of the Netherlands
With well over 20 years of practical experience Debbie has mastered all aspects of employment law. She provides advice to both small businesses and multinationals about employment contracts, management agreements, employment conditions (as well as changes or harmonisations of these), regulations and protocols. Debbie has extensive experience in mass redundancies and individual dismissals, in negotiating with Works Councils and trade unions and in dealing with complex reorganizations, takeovers and mergers, as well as in international insourcing and outsourcing issues. In addition she is specialised in the specific characteristics of flex contracts and the highly complex issues of illness, incapacity for work, WIA (Dutch Work and Income (Capacity for Work) Act), wage sanctions and rehabilitation procedures.
When litigation is inevitable, Debbie is the person to turn to when it comes to understanding and convincingly presenting the legal merits of the case, which is for example illustrated by the fact that for years Debbie was closely involved in a high-profile case which was twice successfully taken to the Supreme Court. Her clients describe Debbie as very knowledgeable and a profound legal advisor and also compliment her for her fighting spirits.
Debbie is a member of the Dutch Employment Lawyers Association (Vereniging Arbeidsrecht Advocaten Nederland, VAAN) and the Association of Employment Law Lawyers Breda/’s Hertogenbosch (VAR), and is a regular lecturer, organizer of (in-house) workshops and publisher on a wide range of employment law issues.
